ROLLASTON CRICKET CLUB
ROLLASTON CRICKET CLUB, DERBYSHIRE.
The site at Rollaston consisted of a drive way that slopes down at a sharp incline towards the carparking area at the bottom.
The original surface was tarmac but over the years and probably due to the eosion from the water running downhill the condition was found to be poor.
The club house is quite a well is well populated by the players and their families but the friendly atmosphere encourages plenty of residents from the village.
The comittee of the club were therefore concerened that visiters to the club house were navigated too many water filled pot holes on their social visits to the club.
Above and below: The tractor mounted crusher gets to work on the car park area first and works it way down andunderneath the deepest of the pot holes.
Below: The site as been graded so the water runs off towards existing ditches and is rolled in with a twin drum roller, giving a dramatically improved finish.
Moving on to the drive from the club house up to the road and again the site was thoroughly crushed.
The drive way was graded with a slight rise to the centre to encourage the water to run off towards the sides into the vegetation instead of straight down towards the club house.
