ROAD RECLAMATION AT WARWICK RACECOURSE

The racing industry takes safety incredibly serious. Whilst horse racing is considered a high risk sport, great efforts are taken to ensure that horse and jockey and looked after and should the need arrive that any treatment required is administered as quickly as possible.

This high level response is accessed a road running side by side with the track called 'The Ambulance Road'.

The majority of these roads are tracks (not tarmacadam or concrete) and with vehicles doing on average 40mph they get their fair amount of wear and tear.

At Warwick we have simply reclaimed the track, reset the cambres and compacted the surface back down.

The result was very pleasing. Warwick are looking to use this as a maintenance system to keep their ambulance rooad in tip top condition.
